History of the Institution

The main objective of this college is to promote basic animal husbandry education in theory and hands on practical exposure of veterinary first aid and other animal husbandry related activities with a view to generate para-veterinarians to work in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh.

Course Duration: Total duration of course is 2 years (4 Semesters) with maximum intake of 30 per batch in which, students will study for three semesters in the College. During this period they are completing 20 courses which include both theory and practical in Clinical, Para clinical, Production and Management aspect of Livestock and Poultry. Simultaneous they are undergoing daily practical work experiences training at Sheep Farm and Cattle Farm of Livestock Research Station attached to the college. During the final semester the students are undergoing Internship training Program at Veterinary Hospitals of Animal Husbandry Department, in Artificial Insemination, Pregnancy Diagnosis and First aid treatment. In addition, they will attend Private Dairy Farms, Hatcheries and Livestock Research Stations as part of work experience program for 40 days and will also attending 10 days special annual health camp under NSS program to fulfill the course requirement.
