Dr. Kothapalli Srinivasa Rao is a distinguished veterinary academician and
researcher with over 25 years of service in the Government of Andhra Pradesh
and veterinary education. He currently serves as an Principal, Animal Husbandry
Polytechnic College, Rapur from 01/12/2025. under Sri Venkateswara Veterinary
University, Tirupati.
Holding M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Veterinary Parasitology, Dr. Rao has made
significant contributions to teaching, research, extension, and academic
administration. He has been actively involved in teaching parasitology courses
to veterinary students, developing teaching manuals and aids, and serving as an
external examiner for veterinary universities across India.
His research contributions include participation in the NATP (CGP) Project and
serving as Co-Principal Investigator in state-funded projects on nasal
schistosomiasis in cattle and bovine microfilariosis. Through extensive extension
activities, he has organized animal health camps, farmer awareness programs, NSS
camps, vaccination drives, and educational outreach through radio and television
programs.
Dr. Rao has held several leadership and administrative positions, including NSS
Programme Officer, Officer on Student Affairs, Placement Cell In-charge, Hostel
Warden, and Drawing & Disbursing Officer (DDO). He played a key role in establishing
departments at the Veterinary College, Garividi, and has represented veterinary
education nationally as an observer and inspector.
A life member of several professional veterinary organizations, Dr. Rao is widely
recognized for his dedication to veterinary education, livestock health, farmer
welfare, and institutional development.
