The Department has specialized large animal medicine, small animal medicine, small animal surgery outpatient and small animal infusion wards. The department has an exclusive registration counter where the cases are registered and user charges are collected for various services rendered. All the case records are maintained by the department. The department operates a total budget of Rs. 22,95,000.00 (2017-18) and generated an income of Rs. 4, 99,080.00 last year towards registration and user charges.

Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostics (VLD Lab):

Clinical samples from all the three clinical departments Surgery, Medicine and Gynecology are regularly processed, interpreted and reports are submitted for aiding in correct diagnosis of the cases.. Complete blood picture (Hb, PCV, TEC, TLC, DLC,, Relative platelet count), Urinalysis, Cytology, Serum biochemistry are the tests being routinely performed in the VLD laboratory. On an average around 5000 clinical samples are screened in a year. The lab is also supporting Postgraduate research work of PG students of all the clinical departments by providing following facilities:

  1. Semi auto analyzer for serum Biochemistry.
  2. PCR Thermal cycler for molecular Diagnosis.
  3. Ingenius gel documentation.
  4. Olympus Dark field Microscope.
  5. Leica Microtome for Histopathology.
