The department of Veterinary Microbiology offers under graduate courses as per MSVE guidelines of Veterinary Council of India. M.V.Sc. programme in Veterinary Microbiology was started in the academic year 2010-11 and Ph.D. programme was started in the academic year 2015-16. In addition to teaching under-graduate and post-graduate courses, the teaching faculty of the department are also engaged in disease diagnosis, research and extension activities. The department is reasonably well equipped to take up conventional and molecular diagnostics work and also vaccine design. In the capacity of Principal Investigator / Co-Principal Investigator / Co-Investigator, teaching faculty of the department have implemented / have been implementing research projects funded by external agencies like DBT, DST, NMPB & Private Industries (Intervet), and also by SVVU under state plan. Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) – Global Biopharmaceutical company, also funded for post graduate research work in the department.
