The department started functioning in 2000 initially to offer UG courses and subsequently M.V.Sc., and Ph.D. programmes were initiated in 2013-14 and 2015-16, respectively. Apart from teaching, the faculty is actively involved in disease diagnosis, research and extension activities. The faculty of the department has successfully completed DBT and State level research projects. The infrastructure facilities were developed in the department to carry out quality research in Veterinary Parasitology in the areas of parasitic zoonoses, benzimidazole resistance, immunomodulation, cytokines, anthelmintic and immunomodulatory properties of natural products.
