The Department of Veterinary Physiology was established in 1998 along with the inception of the NTR College of Veterinary Science Vide G.O Ms. No. 33 Agriculture & Co-operation (Agriculture III) Department, Dated 03-03-1998. . The Department of Veterinary Physiology has been offering UG programme of BVSc & AH as per VCI requirements from academic year 1998-99 onwards and PG courses as minor subject since 2009. University has decided to start PG programme in Veterinary Physiology at NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram vide Proc. No. 2264/PG/2015 Dt: 09.09.2016 of SVVU, Tirupati. One Professor, Two Associate Professor and Three Assistant Professor posts were sanctioned for Dept. of Physiology. Presently the Department of Veterinary Physiology is headed by a Professor, assisted by two Assistant Professors. The Department of Physiology has organized one day Regional seminar and SAPI Zonal Veterinary Physiology Quiz competition in the year 2016 and the students of NTR College of Veterinary Science emerged as winners at National Veterinary Physiology Quiz -2016 held at Mhow Veterinary College, Madhya Pradesh as a part of Society of Animal Physiologists of India (SAPI) national symposium during December, 2016.
