Dr. P. Ravi Kumar

Dr. P. Ravi Kumar is a surgeon, teacher, researcher, and administrator with over 13 years of experience in veterinary education, clinical practice, research, and extension services. He obtained his B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc., and Ph.D. in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology from prestigious veterinary institutions under SVVU. His areas of expertise include small animal surgery, orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, fracture management, osteoarthritis therapy, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has successfully led externally funded research projects on intramedullary interlocking nailing for long bone fractures and nutraceutical interventions for osteoarthritis and fracture healing in dogs. His research has contributed to the development and standardization of advanced orthopaedic procedures that improve clinical outcomes and reduce treatment costs in companion animals. He has published extensively in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, with more than 120 scientific publications, including numerous first-author papers in the fields of veterinary surgery, orthopaedics, wound healing, and diagnostic imaging. An active extension specialist, he has organized and served as a resource person in several training programs for veterinarians, imparting practical skills in anesthesia, surgery, radiology, ultrasonography, and fracture management. He has also participated in health camps, farmer interactions, and veterinary outreach programs across Andhra Pradesh.
