On the academic aspect, the Dept. is handling Poultry courses in the 1st BVSc&AH academic year as per the VCI-2016 MSVE regulations. The Dept. is offering entrepreneurial training to the 3rd BVSc & AH students in broiler production (quail and chicken) by meeting the expenditure from Revolving fund.
This department is also involved in the production of day-old backyard chicks by utilizing the facilities at ILFC for the incubation of eggs. For the above incubation, the fertile eggs were produced by maintaining the parent stock. All the techniques involved in the management of parent stock, artificial insemination and incubation of eggs were demonstrated to the students.
