Prof. (Dr) Chigurupati Srinivasa Prasad assumed charge of Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur on 05.02.2024. He secured his BVSc & AH (1989-94) and MVScin Veterinary Physiology (1994-96) from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and Ph.D (2005-08) from Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University. Prior to his entry into university service as Assistant Professor on 04.08.1999, he worked as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon for a brief period (23-11-1996 to 03-08-1999) in Dept. of Animal Husbandry Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. He worked as Assistant Professor (1999 to 2008) and Associate Professor (2008 to 2012) at NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram. Subsequent to his selection as Professor, he worked in the cadre of Professor of Physiology at College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur (2012 to 2016) and NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram (2016 to 2024). As founder faculty and Head of the department, he was instrumental in the establishment of Department of Physiology and various sections at NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram and College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur. As a Chairman/member of various committees significant contributions were made to infrastructural development of both colleges. He organized a Regional Seminar and Zonal level Veterinary Physiology Quiz under the auspices of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University and Society of Animal Physiologists of India (SAPI) in the year 2016.He guided 5 MVSc and two Ph.D students and authored 33 research publications, 2 review articles and 2 book chapters of national and international repute and is reviewer of various journals. He handled a RKVY research Project as Principal Investigator. He was recipient/ co-recipient of Best poster presentation awards at various international workshops/ conferences. He was coordinator of AIPVT conducted by VCI in the year 2016. He acted as an Expert member of selection committee for faculty recruitment in various Universities and Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB).
