Profile
Prof. Rao is presently working as Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science,
Proddatur, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Andhra Pradesh. Prof. Rao is
associated with undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate teaching as well as research
in the field of Veterinary Medicine and has 20 international and 56 national publications
in reputed journals. Prof. Rao has established Veterinary Cardiology referral clinic
at NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram and College of Veterinary Science,
Tirupati. He has completed three research projects and one DST project on hand.
He was member of VCI inspection for three Veterinary Colleges, during 2015-2016.
He acted as an Expert for selection committee for recruitment of Teaching Faculty
in various Universities across South India. He organized two National Seminars,
two National Workshops, two international conferences and five state level Workshops.
He participated and presented research papers/ lead papers/ guest lectures and chaired
sessions at numerous national conferences, workshops and seminars. He guided 11
M.V.Sc. students and 2 PhD students. He received Best Clinical Article Award for
the year 2007, Dr. P. K. Das Gold Medal in the year 2013 and six best presentation
awards in various ISVM national conferences. He received State Best Teacher Award
for the year 2016 from Andhra Pradesh State government. He has published a text
book on Essentials of Canine Cardiovascular Medicine in 2018. Prof. Rao is a founder
president of Indian Society for Veterinary Cardiology. As a life member of various
professional bodies including Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice,
he has developed a strong professional network and has shared his professional knowledge
and expertise with professional colleagues throughout India. Prof. Rao attended
15 days international training programme on “Advanced Clinical Training in Veterinary
Cardiology” through the NAHEP at University of Georgia, Athens, USA from 02-04-2019
to 16-04-2019. He is a Life member of Various National and International Societies.
He received Fellow of ISACP in the year 2020.
