The Department came in existence since the inception of the college under the supervision of Dr. P. Jagapathi Ramayya as the founder Head of the Department. The department has sanctioned posts for one Professor, one Associate Professor and four Assistant Professors. Under departmental activities, the staff started the preparation of skeletons, gross specimens for museum and classroom teaching and various histological sections for teaching microscopic anatomy of various species. Different type of preservation methods are also adopted in the preparation of specimen in the department viz. dried specimen and corrosion casts of various organs. The staff members are well qualified and have national and international recognition as they are working as reviewer for various journals of national and international repute. All the faculty members are involved in various research and development activities and publishing them in peer reviewed journals regularly and they have published more than 60 Research articles and many research abstracts till date.
