The Department of teaching veterinary clinical complex was established at college of veterinary science, Proddatur, in the month of October 2012 with the recruitment of Dr.K.G.Solmon Raju, M.V.Sc., PhD, (ARGO) as Professor and Head. Prior to his recruitment, the clinics was being managed by Dr.N.Syamasunder, Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, from 10.06.2011 to 27.10.2012, with the help of teaching assistants belonging to the other two clinical departments. Dr.S. Bharathi, MVSc., PhD (VSR), Professor and Head, shouldered the department from 01.02.2014 to 05.11.2017. Dr. Rambabu Kalaka, MVSc., PhD, (VSR), took charge as Assistant Professor and Head from 06.11.2017 and continuing the service till date.

The available space in the existing building was utilized for small animal treatment, by dividing into different wards. Large animal treatment is being done in the premises of the hospital building where two trevis are installed. Small animal surgeries are being undertaken in the Small Animal Operation Theatre of the Department of Surgery and Radiology. The department was shifted to new college premises located in Gopavaram village on 15.08.2015.
