College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati

The College was started on 15th July, 1955 at Bapatla under administrative control of Department of Animal Husbandry under affiliation to Andhra University with an intake of 48 students. It was inaugurated by the then chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri B.Gopala Reddy.

The first three batches of students were admitted at Bapatla during 1955 – 1957 and the college was shifted from Bapatla to Tirupati during December,1957 and was brought to the control of APAU (now ANGRAU).

Dr. Malakondaiah, P.

Dr. P.Malakondaiah assumed charge as the Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati on 03-08-2026. He graduated from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University in the year 1993. He obtained his Master's Degree in Veterinary Parasitology during the year 1995. He joined in University as Assistant Professor on 14-11-1997 at College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati. He obtaned Ph.D. in the year 2007 from KVAFSU, Veterinary College, Hebbal, Bengaluru. He worked as Assistant Profesor at NTR College of Veterinary College, Gannavaram and Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Later he joined as Principal, Animal Husbandry Polvtechnic, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari District and Senior Scientist and Head, Buffalo Research Station, V.R.Gudemn, West Godavari District. He worked as Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Colege of Veterinary Science, Tirupati and officer-in-Charge, Super Speciality Veterinary Hospital, Visakhapatnam. He worked as Professor and University Head at N.TR. CVSc., Gannavaram and Officer-in-charge, Livestock Research Station, Garividi. He worked as Professor & Head, Department of Veterinary Parasitology, College of Veterinary Science, Garividi. He nominated as Member, Board of Management, SVVU, Trupati. He guided 11 MVSc students and 2 Ph.D. students as Chairman in Veterinary Parasitology.
