Dr. Jampala Venkata Ramana was born on 13-08-1964 at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh to Sri.Jampala Sankaraiah and Smt.Jampala Vimalamma. He got graduated in B V Sc and AH, MVSc (Animal Nutrition) from CVSc, Tirupati. He completed his PhD (Animal Nutrition) from CVSc, Hyderabad. He got selected as ARS Scientist in the Discipline of Animal Nutrition in the year 1990 and joined NAARM on 3-12-1991. He served as Scientist at Central Institute of Brackish Water Aquaculture, Chennai and as Senior Scientist at National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore. He then joined as Associate Professor at Department of Animal Nutrition at College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati. He served as Professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati and then he acted as Associate Dean of NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram, Controller of Examinations & Dean of Student Affairs of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. He guided 11 MVSc and 2 PhD students. He has completed 3 research projects as Principal Investigator and 10 research projects as co-principal investigator. He published around 110 research articles in National and International Reputed Journals. He has 33 years of experience in teaching, research and extension. He has one patent to his credit and three Technologies have been commercialized. He was awarded with ICAR Team Research Award in 2000, Dr.V.K.Narayan Khedhar Award in 2010, Andhra Pradesh State Best Meritorious Teacher Award in 2013, Krishna District Veterinary Association Best Teacher Award in the year 2014, Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association award in 2016 and Dr. C.K.Rao best Animal Nutritionist award in the year 2019, Best Teacher Award of ANSI in 2024. He is Fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, Fellow of Animal Nutrition Association, Fellow of Animal Nutritionist Society of India and Fellow of IAAVR. He assumed charge as In-charge Vice-chancellor of SVVU, Tirupati on 19-7-2024
